Google has released its Education Suite to all educators and small businesses for free. It is supported by a temporary hub, Teach From Home to support teachers move education online.

  • You need a website and domain name to register your school - however you can access google classroom, hangouts, and Jamboard through your personal gmail account as well. 

  • The variety of apps and features can overwhelm a new user. To slowly get used to the Google Suite, we recommend picking Google Hangouts to start with.

What you need

  • Follow this step by step guide to set up your very own email account with Gmail

  • The crucial element required to set an education account for your school is a website and domain name - the other details needed are basic.

    1. Permissions: Check with your School Leader/Principal/Headmaster if you already have a Google account for your school. 

    2. School Website: Check to see if you have a school website or if you can create one. The website URL needs to be .org or .ngo

    3. Get details needed to set it up (name of school, number of students, address, alternate email address)
