I am the Education Director at Ashraya Initiative for Children, Pune. Registered as a Section 8 company in India, Ashraya Initiative for Children works with two Denotified Tribe Communities- the Waghri and Sikligar tribes. It is an after-school center located close to the communities it works with- to ensure easy access to education for its children.

I got involved in this cause because of my love for children. I want to transform the lives of children who come from marginalized communities and give them the best possible education. One of my struggles is the varied comprehension levels of my students. Teaching such a heterogeneous classroom becomes extremely difficult for me.

So, to improve their comprehension levels, I wanted to build a library for my classroom. With Pratham’s Library-in-a-classroom, this task becomes easier. I believe access to a library of interesting books will help my students reach their potential. The library includes about 100 books of varying levels ranging from Emergent to Fluent and is perfect for classrooms with wide differences in reading levels. It will solve my problem and also increase my students’ interest in reading, and eventually school subjects.

Help me push my students to achieve their true potential by donating to my classroom.

**Your donation will fund a program which helps teachers effectively use their new solutions in the classroom. Program support includes weekly calls, observations, feedback and troubleshooting advice.
